On the same day of the making of our product, we visited Parkson in Sunway Pyramid. As our product is linked with Parkson for entering Egypt's market, we have to understand more on Parkson's business operation, their retailing ideas, stores location and departments available in the stores. Here are some pictures which we taken during our visit.

Meeting in class

Today is 21 July, we had a meeting during the class time but unfortunately only four of us came to participate this meeting. We discuss about the marketing plan which includes the promotion, places, products and price. when Ms. Su came to our group, she rejected some points of our draft due to the less details. We found this is not an easy work as we think.

(Thinking.......)
After class, we went to reading room to have further disscussion about our product.

Product Plan Sketching

Before coming out with the product, we actually had in mind on the method of building it. Like building houses, skycrappers, or what you can think of, there will be a plan beforehand. It is very much needed to act as a guideline for builders, so that they can come out with a product according to what is planned. Well, our group do have a plan too and we actually shot the sketching of the plan.(Please forgive us for the video quality as we are beginner)

Once again, thanks for watching!
More to come!

The Making

On 4th of July 2010, we have gathered at Shu Tong's house for the assembly of our product. On that day, we have brought along some materials for the product and mostly are used or waste items as the theme of the assignment is related to environmental friendly. As you can see from the picture below, there are shuttlecocks casings, boxes, old newspapers, magazines and strings(hardly can be seen).

We were there since morning and we have difficulties in putting the materials together as things didn't go smoothly like how we have planned. Throughout the process, everyone brainstormed and brought out a few ideas and soon we are getting nearer to what we are expecting. Most of the materials we brought will be used for the building of the product so that it is able to bring out the environmental friendly concept.

Well, you must be wondering what is our product now but we would like to keep it a secret first, the picture below is a teaser, our product is actually like what you have seen in the picture. The completion is nearing, do check back!

Thanks for reading!

Egypt - A Promising Market

Let's us know something about our market country--Egypt.....

Egypt, a country that lies on the northeast of Africa, is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world's most famous monuments, such as the Giza pyramid complex and its Great Sphinx. Its ancient ruins, such as the Valley of the Kings.

Egypt possesses one of the most developed and diversified economies in the Middle East, with sectors such as tourism, agriculture, industry and service at almost equal rates in national production.

Egypt's economy depends mainly on agriculture, media, petroleum exports, and tourism. Egypt also has a developed energy market based on coal, oil, natural gas, and hydro power. Substantial coal deposits are in the north-east Sinai, and oil and gas are produced in the western desert regions, the Gulf of Suez, and the Nile Delta. Egypt has huge reserves of gas, and LNG is exported to many countries.

Economic conditions have started to improve considerably after a period of stagnation from the adoption of more liberal economic policies by the Government, as well as increased revenues from tourism and a booming stock market. Some major economic reforms taken by the new Government since 2003 include a dramatic slashing of customs and tariffs.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Egypt also has increased considerably in the past few years due to the recent economic liberalization measure. The IT sector has expanded rapidly in the past few years, with many new start-ups conducting outsourcing business to North America and Europe, operating with companies such as Microsoft, Oracle and other major corporations, as well as many SME's.
